Hearts Stenciled Cookies

First time trying out full stencilling on cookies. Quite like the effect. Like how it is much faster than piping. :)   Also testing out a little change in RI consistency and thus trying to pipe straight lines to see how the change would feel.

My Melody Birthday Theme

My Melody.Ombre Ruffles. Tiara

Upon delivery, Birthday girl's Mom said the cake looked better in person than on photos which i had messaged her earlier. She sure knows how to brighten up my day after all the stress..LOL! :D
I usually deliver my cake assembled and thus was worried because of the height of the double-barrel bottom tier cake. So glad that everything went on smoothly despite travelling long distance in the car even with the topper on it.

Close up of hand moulded My Melody & Tiara.

My Melody Cookies. Cookie at 3.5" in size.

I made the labels to go with the cookies. All packed to be given away as party favors.

Matching pink cupcakes to go along with the cake.

Rose Cookies

These are so easy to decorate and so much fun! Many thanks to my friend Tina for helping me with these rose cookies and for advising me to use round cookie cutters for these.

I made the labels to go with these cookies. :)

Paul Frank 21st Birthday

My daughter has turned 21! I am still in denial..LOL! I can't believe it.  My baby is all grown up.  In the eyes of parents, you are still their child no matter how old you are!  (No wonder my mom is still nagging at me if i eat enough for the day..you see ever since i was a toddler, i dont really like to eat normal meals.. except milk, ribena & glucose water....hahaha).

The small dessert table set up in our tiny apartment.  My daughter designed all the labels and tags.  Took some time to convince my husband that this banner i bought is wall-paper friendly... He was very worried it will damaged our wall paper.  If not for the wall paper, i would have greater plans for the wall....LOL!

Julius Monkey Cake!
(with home made macarons & marshallows at the side)
Side note: Homemade marshallows taste great..different from the store bought ones.  Has a more melt-in-mouth texture.

Julius' friends Cupcakes. Designed by my daughter and decorated mostly by her too. I just added some finishing touches like the piping.

Julius monkey Cookies as party favors! :)

Black Tie 21st

I'm very happy with my acrylic cupcake stand for being so sturdy with a heavy top cake.  Other than the name and no. 21 to be placed on top of the cake, my friend also requested for a big cutting cake that could feed at least 75pax.  I was worried that my top cake would topple over but my cupcake stand has proved its worth. :D    In the beginning i'm not too sure if i liked this design that i have created, but after a few days, I think I have grown to like it and also quite pleased with the overall design except the big top proportion.  :)

More Macarons

Even though I've moved into my new home for quite a while now, I can't seem to find a more comfortable way of making macarons in my new home. Not sure how I should go about piping or moving my trays etc.

Also trying to macaronnage the right way so that the shells are smooth and not rough like i did previously for CNY macarons.  I think the best shells i've made are the red ones - shiny & crunchy top with soft chewy inner texture.  The rest are...hmm...OK.. because i think i have slightly over macaronnage the rest somehow...they are still chewy but just not as chewy as i would like.  I do not like macaron that just crumbles in my mouth without any substantial bite.

Yes, I made the shells 5 times over....(I suspect I do have a bit OCD....LOL!).   Oh yes, after 5 times.. i think i finally found the way..LOL!

Flavors: Lemon, Bitter-chocolate, Blueberry, Rose/Mango, Strawberry.

Princess Cake & Cookies

Birthday Girl's only request was that she wanted a princess on her cake so I made her an extra large princess as the center of attraction. :) Also made the tiara to go with the theme of the cake.  Pink & Purple are her favorite colors.

Easter Eggs & Chicks

I made these 3" eggs and chicks from the left over dough from my earlier puzzle cookies.  I flooded them at the same time, but then got lazy and didn't want to decorate further.

This morning, i finally decided i should do something... so i piped the wings (ya..how difficult is that and i procrastinated for the longest time until the cookie is stale by now..LOL!) and then the eggs with some  designs.  But after just piping 8 cookies, i got bored and didn't want to pipe further.

So, i took out my other tips which i had quite a while but never used and decided to pipe all the various types of frills..  Not quite sure what i was going to do or how the frills was going to turn out either.  But i went ahead and piped right onto the cookies without trying first on a piece of paper because i didn't have enough icing left.  After all, nobody is going to eat the cookies except me... and maybe my daughter...and i'm not going to give anyone since it should be pretty stale by now. LOL!

So after all the experimenting..the above is all i can come up with. It's pretty bad..LOL! But at least i get a view now of all the types of pleats i can create now. :p

Couldn't decide if like the 1st photo better or this one. Somehow i like this photo too because it is like all in a row.. :)

Happy Easter everyone and let's not forget that Easter is not about eggs or chicks or bunnies, but the real meaning of Easter is "Christ is Risen!". :)

Autism Awareness Cookies

April is Autism Awareness Month.

Made these for my son's school as requested by his teacher, for some related occasion to be held on Saturday.

PECS Symbols Cookies

Some children with autism have trouble communicating and they are more visual and hence the use of these PECS symbols to help them to communicate their needs and wants.   I used to photocopy all these symbols in B&W.  It's more economical in B&W as opposed to color many years ago.. and they are supposed to be color coded as well.  After photocopy, i had to cut and laminate..and cut again...!  I think i spent all of my time making these symbols and trying to get my son to communicate his needs.  And another part of my time watching him 24/7 because he was also hyper-active - jumping and climbing everywhere!   Now it is so easy, can always buy the program to just print in color whatever symbols you need or even download free from the internet.

COOKIES ALL PACKED & READY TO GO!

MINI PUZZLE COOKIES

Borrowed this mini puzzle cookies idea from SweetSugarBelle.  I also used her cookie recipe. Her cookie recipe is excellent for colored dough. The color stays vibrant and pretty even after baked.  This is the first time i am this successful in making colored dough. Normally, my cookies will turn slightly brown after baking and the color becomes dull too.   Not with SweetSugarBelle's recipe though.    The not so fun thing is, these are very time consuming even when using a cookie cutter.   These are really really mini..  And yes, i am very stingy...i only packaged 4 mini cookies into one bag instead of putting a handful together..because this way, i am able to bag 100 packs..LOL!

Plants vs Zombies

Lots of moulding of characters which drove me crazy! LOL!   I'm not a fan of moulding anything..unless i don't have a choice...like moulding cartoon characters in polymer clay for my son...and that is ok because there's no waiting time and i can bake it and it will be ready. With fondant, sometimes i have to wait till it dries..before i can proceed to the next step...

 Close up of Cupcakes

Only a selection of cupcakes..:)

CNY Macarons

Late post due to the fact that the photos were sitting in my camera for the longest time and i forgotten about them..! :P  These macarons were made in line with Chinese New Year celebration. I 'matched' the colors to that of my earlier CNY decorated cookies.

Chinese New Year Cookies

Recently I've been busy with office work and at the same time so unmotivated......and partly lazy too...:p  If you noticed, i have not decorated a single cake for more than 6 months.  Even with these cookies, i took a long time just to make the icing..and to color it..and then to get it to the right consistency.  I initially had big plans and wanted to ice each cookies with different design but in the end ran out of time and just ended up with loads of duplicates..LOL!

Some of these designs are cliparts taken from internet and some from photos, posters or decorations that i've seen around.

Wishing everyone a Happy & Prosperous New Year!
祝大家恭喜发财, 万事如意, 心想事成, 身体健康, 财源滚滚!
